NEW JERSEY — The 2022 race is nearing the finish line in New Jersey’s 11th Congressional district.
Democratic incumbent U.S. Rep. Mikie Sherrill is facing challenges from Republican nominee Paul DeGroot and Joseph Biasco of the Libertarian Party in this year’s general election. Election Day takes place on Tuesday, Nov. 8. The early voting period in New Jersey takes place from Oct. 29 to Nov. 6.
DeGroot had called for a series of public debates throughout the district, which includes parts of Essex, Morris and Passaic counties. In October, Sherrill announced that three debates had been scheduled, hosted by the New Jersey Globe, the League of Women Voters, and the Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ. Only one of the debates – held at Drew University in Madison on Oct. 25 – included Biasco.
