"Thankfully, all animals and humans are safe and will be drying out overnight," the shelter stated. "One thing this event has brought to our attention is that while we have plenty of food for our animals, unfortunately, we do not have a large emergency supply of bottled water in case our main water supply is cut off or becomes contaminated."
The shelter asked the community for some assistance in helping it stockpile a supply of water for its animals "just in case."

"If you could pick up an extra case of regular plain old bottled water on your next shopping trip and drop off in front of our shelter, we would really appreciate it," staff at the municipally run shelter wrote.
