WHY GO:   This exhibition addresses the role of vernacular forms in the work of 26 contemporary artists who utilize craft, folklore, and roadside kitsch to explore culturally specific iconography in the context of an increasingly global world of art.

WHY GO:   Director and Choreographer, David  Gordon blends performance, dance, William Walton’s soaring film scores and the voices of past Henrys such as Christopher Plummer and Laurence Olivier. The final product is an hour-long performance beyond definition or expectation, creating (in the words of Shakespeare himself) “the brightest heaven for invention”

This compilation of songs from The American Songbook, Broadway and Pop music, as well as an original by Carol and producer Jan Stevens features performances by jazz greats, guitarists Dave Stryker, Charlie Hunter with Vinnie Cutro, Ray Monte, Bailey Gee and an outstanding cast of players.

WHY GO:   Come visit this creepy genetically modified food processing factory as an “employee.” You will meet your deranged co-workers and see what the boss is feeding them for lunch. Beware: Many of the new employees don't make it through the night shift!

  ** “Not-so-Scary” Kids’ Sunday Matinees from 2 pm-6 pm. Tickets are $8 a person and adults must be accompanied by a child age 12 and under.

WHY GO:    The Montclair Public Library Gallery will be exhibiting the work of photographer Scot Surbeck from October 1 to 31. Surbek’s exhibition is titled "CityClickr - The City Seen", and will feature New York City street photography in fifty large scale color and black and white images.

WHY GO:    Chicken Little just got duped by the infamous Foxy Loxy. Is the sky really falling? Will the chicken be outfoxed by the fox? WHY GO:    Local Montclair High School students invite the community of Montclair and surrounding cities to enjoy four films which celebrate Hispanic heritage and its cultural influences. No registration required. This weeks film: Veronico Cruz - tells the story of an Argentine elementary-school teacher sent by the government to a rural hamlet located in the northwestern province of Jujuy. It shows how he touches the lives of the villagers, especially the young and impressionable boy Verónico, whose mother died and father left to seek work when he was an infant.

WHY GO:     Hailed by The New York Times as “a technically nimble and dynamic organist,” Renée Anne Louprette has established a formidable international career as organ recitalist, accompanist and conductor.  Since 2007, she has been a member of the faculty of the John J. Cali School of Music, Montclair State University in Montclair, New Jersey as Adjunct Professor of Organ.
