Weird Stuff: Montclair Set To Host 2nd Strange Xchange Flea Market
Purveyors and collectors of the strange will converge in Montclair for the area's only punk rock/alternative flea market.
Every suburban town needs a place for its weirdos to do their shopping.
That’s why Montclair needs the StrangeXchange, the area’s only “punk rock/alternative flea market,” due to return for an encore event on Saturday, Oct. 17, from noon to 5 p.m. at the Wellmont Theater, 5 Seymour St.
According to the event’s organizers Weird N.J. and The Aquarian – both iconic publishers of the unusual in the Garden State – the upcoming StrangeXchange will feature over 40 local vendors, food trucks and a variety of entertainment including:

- Supernatural predictions
- Face painting
- Halloween movies
General admission tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the door.
“People need the StrangeXchange to offset all the malls and monotony in this area,” The Aquarian Weekly’s publisher Diane Casazza told Patch.

“Our vendors make this flea market unlike any other of its kind,” Casazza said. “Their unique interests and attention to abnormal subjects, seen in their collections and art, bring out the weird in all of us. From taxidermy jewelry to candles and soap makers, and recycled treasures to folks who clear out your grandma’s estate… you simply can’t find this stuff anywhere else.”
“If the Addams Family had a garage sale, this would be it,” Casazza added.
