Where To Go Sledding In Montclair: Skating Not Allowed At Edgemont, Yantacaw

Sledding at Mountainside Park will be open on Sunday, but skating at Edgemont and Yantacaw is still not allowed.

Looking for a place to go sledding on Sunday in Montclair?

Town officials sent the following advisory on Sunday:

“Supervised sledding at Mountainside Park will be open to residents once all roads are cleared and appropriate personnel is available to be on site. Once all personnel and safety measures are in place, Upper Mountain Avenue will be closed for supervised sledding between Windsor Place and Mount Hebron Road.”

However, don’t plan on taking the snow party to Edgemont or Yantacaw ponds just yet.

“Skating on Edgemont and Yantacaw ponds is not permitted,” town officials added. “Red flags have been posted.”
