YMCA of Montclair Announces New Volunteer Leadership to Guide Mission Forward
The YMCA of Montclair is pleased to announce the appointment of its new Chief Volunteer Officer and Board Chair Jack Pitts, Jr.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — The YMCA of Montclair is pleased to announce the appointment of its new Chief Volunteer Officer and Board Chair Jack Pitts, Jr.
Mr. Pitts has served on the YMCA of Montclair board since 2018. He chaired its Nominating and Governance Committee, Strategic Planning Committee as well as served as Vice-Chair. Mr. Pitts is a Senior Managing Director and Global Chief Operating Officer of Blackstone Legal & Compliance, based in New York. He serves on the Blackstone Charitable Foundation Board of Directors, is an Executive Sponsor of the Blackstone Diverse Professionals Network and serves on the Board of Trustees for Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. Mr. Pitts received a BS in Financial Management from Hillsdale College and a JD from Howard University School of Law, where he served as the Managing Editor of the Howard Law Journal.

The YMCA of Montclair thanks former Board Chair Marjorie Pierre-Merritt for her years of dedicated service. Ms. Pierre-Merritt will now serve as immediate past chair and remain on our Board.
The Board of Directors is composed of up to 24 members who provide oversight, help guide the nonprofit’s strategic direction, set policy, and raise support for programs and scholarships.
