Yogi Berra and Brian Cashman - a Double Hit at Sports Conference

Sports minded students received both hands on experience and met with sports legends this past weekend when they attended the The Sports Business Conference Series, presented by The Yogi Berra Museum & Learning Center and Lunar Sports Group.

While the highlight for many was a visit from the New York Yankees legend Yogi Berra, the seminar did provide practical insight for high school and college students into  professional sports management.  

Saturday’s keynote speaker was Brian Cashman, General Manager of the New York Yankees. Cashman spoke for two hours to students about his road to becoming a general manager and gave tips about breaking into the business.

It was during Cashman's lecture that Yogi Bera made a surprise visit. 

The Sports Business Conference Series educates students on a wide range of jobs that exist within the sports world. 

 The Series is comprised of four separate One Day Sessions that take place throughout the year at The Yogi Berra Museum and Learning Center. Each session has a separate focus of the Sports Industry:

1st Session Focus: Working for Teams/Leagues/Franchises
2nd Session Focus: Sports Media
3rd Session Focus: Agent/Sports Marketing
4th Session Focus: Special Events
