MONTCLAIR, NJ — The living dead will walk in Montclair again this Halloween season.
The Montclair Zombie Walk will return in full force at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29. The popular event, which was last held in 2019, will kick off at local comic shop East Side Mags, 491 Bloomfield Avenue in Montclair. Makeup teams will be available to help transform walkers from 1 to 3 p.m., when the march of the undead begins.
Hundreds of zombies are expected to attend, event organizers said.

According to a post from East Side Mags:
“As a giant Zombie horde, we’ll walk around Montclair and spread the spooky spirit to patrons, businesses, looky-loos and casual walkers. We’re thinking Night of the Living Dead zombies - NOT 28 Days Later zombies so we’ll be WALKING not running through the streets! We will also be the mindful undead and follow all traffic signals and respect the wishes of others not participating if they’re not ‘into it.’ Just don’t be THAT ZOMBIE. Be undead but also respectful of others.”
After the walk, a costume contest will take place at East Side Mags, with festivities concluding around 6 p.m. Learn more here.

BEETLEJUICE LIVE
That won’t be all for Halloween revelers in Montclair that night, however.
East Side Mags will also host a “Beetlejuice Live” event from 7 to 9 p.m. on Oct. 29 in conjunction with Omniversal Entertainment. Learn more here.
According to the shop:
“It’s been a really long time since this eclectic collection of voice actors and comedians have graced our walls but they’re back and foaming at the mouth to bring you the best live entertainment they possibly can muster. You might remember this team (under a different name) from previous live readings for such acclaimed cinema reproductions live Monty Python and Young Frankenstein. But this is a special Halloween version that will include a live script reading featuring as many as 6 voice actors and comedians along with a very special raffle for a $50 East Side Mags gift card with 100% of the proceeds going to support Tomorrow’s Children’s Fund at Hackensack Meridian Children’s Hospital.”
