11 Marching Bands to Perform at High School
The field corps is hosting its seventh annual marching band competition on Saturday.

The Montville Township High School Field Corps is scheduled to host its seventh annual marching band competition starting at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday at the high school football field.
The Mustang Classic is a festival of music and pageantry sanctioned by the United States Scholastic Band Association, according to a Montville Marching Band Boosters Association announcement about the competition.
At least 11 marching bands with more than 1,200 student musicians and color guard members will be competing. Morris Knolls, Sparta, Pompton Lakes, Dover, Wayne Hills, Passaic, Rutherford, Vernon, Hicksville and Bergenfield are among the high schools scheduled to perform.

Montville’s Field Corps will be performing its original 2011 program, “Words That Changed The World.” This year’s corps is under the student leadership of drum major Robyn Anderson, assistant drum major Dylan Casler and and color guard captain Arnelle Pierre-Louis.
The Montville Township Field Corps won the 2007 State and Northern States Championship. Last year, Montville finished in eighth place out of over 25 nationally ranked bands at a competition held at the U.S Naval Academy Stadium in Annapolis, Md.

"All are welcome to this magnificent, exciting and entertaining event," the Montville Marching Band Boosters Association announcement said. "Please come to see the talent and dedication of these bands. You will not be disappointed and you will be in awe of the performances."
General admission is $10, student and senior citizen admissions are $5 and children under 5 are free.
