4 Montville Homes Burglarized, Police Say

Burglaries reportedly occurred overnight. Entry was made through unlocked doors, authorities said.

MONTVILLE, N.J. — Four township homes were burglarized recently, police said.

Police responded to reports of burglaries on Diann Drive Saturday, Weiss Drive and Rutledge Road Monday, and Waughaw Road Wednesday.

Residents of three of the homes reported that someone had entered the homes overnight and removed "various items," police said. Entry appears to have been made through unlocked doors, authorities said.

The police department Detective Bureau and the Morris County Prosecutor's Office are investigating the incidents.

Authorities said residents to lock their doors and windows. Any suspicious activity, vehicles, or people should be reported to the police department at 973-257-4300.
