Aerosol Spray Led To Evacuation Of Montville High

The mid-morning evacuation lasted a half-hour.

MONTVILLE, NJ— Montville Township High School was briefly evacuated Tuesday after an aerosol spray set off the smoke alarms, Montville Superintendent René Rovtar told Patch.

The mid-morning fire alarm was caused by an aerosol spray being used as a finish on a student project, Rovtar said. The building was evacuated and the Montville Fire Department responded, as per established procedures.

The fire chief allowed students and staff to reenter the building a half an hour later, Rovtar said.
