Montville Flag Retirement Ceremony Scheduled For June 6

MONTVILLE, NJ — A patriotic flag retirement ceremony will be held Saturday, June 6, at 10 a.m. at the Amphitheater Pavilion behind the library.

VFW Post 5481, township fire departments, Trail Life USA Troop NJ-0777, and local Boy and Girl Scout troops will participate in the ceremony, during which worn American flags will be traditionally incinerated under fire department supervision.

Residents wishing to retire flags may deposit them in advance at the VFW Flag Depository at the VFW Building at Community Park, or bring them directly to the ceremony.
