Local police, along with county law enforcement, are actively searching the area and asking anyone with information to call 911 or the Montville Police Department immediately.

Morris County Prosecutor: Active Death Investigation Underway in Montville Township (tapinto.net) — Law enforcement is actively investigating a death off Stony Brook Road in Montville Township, with multiple local police, fire, and EMS agencies involved. Authorities have not yet released the victim's identity or circumstances of the death, but say the investigation is ongoing and more information will be shared when appropriate.
3. Morris/Sussex girls soccer preseason rankings, players to watch (njherald.com) — Montville girls soccer enters the 2026 season ranked ninth in Morris/Sussex, led by record-breaking junior striker Karolina Bodyziak and transfer winger Samantha Trimble. Despite losing 16 players to graduation, the Mustangs return a strong core in front of new sophomore goalkeeper Juliana Benecki as area teams gear up for the Sept. 1 kickoff.
4. Montville Bus Co. Owner Van Riper Dies Following Motorcycle Accident (tapinto.net) — Montville residents are mourning Albert Van Riper III, longtime owner of Montville Bus Co. and member of Montville Reformed Church, who died a week after a motorcycle crash in Pennsylvania. Authorities in Pennsylvania continue to investigate the collision, and funeral service details have not yet been announced.
