• Missing 87-Year-Old Hiker Found Dead After Partner Is Rescued (people.com) — Montville Township police and firefighters helped lead a large search at Pyramid Mountain after two elderly hikers from a nearby senior community went missing, rescuing one man but sadly finding his 87‑year‑old companion dead. Authorities say more than 30 officers from Montville and surrounding Morris County agencies joined the effort, though they have not yet released details on how the pair became lost.
   

• Montville's Finnerty Shares Message of Hope at Morris County Overdose Awareness Day (tapinto.net) — A 17‑year‑old Montville resident, Chloe Finnerty, shared a powerful message about addiction and hope during Morris County's Overdose Awareness Day ceremony in Parsippany. Speaking alongside county officials, she reflected on losing her brother to heroin and joined advocates highlighting falling overdose deaths, expanded naloxone training, and programs connecting people to treatment across New Jersey.
