RUTHERFORD, NJ―Rutherford Allied Medical Group is the first pain treatment facility in New Jersey to offer Calmare Pain Therapy Treatment®, an FDA approved, non-invasive technology to treat patients suffering from chronic high-intensity pain, including oncologic and medication-resistant pain.

This pain-free therapy is appropriate for patients suffering from cancer and chemotherapy; pain as a result of chronic diseases such as diabetes, multiple sclerosis, arthritis; back and neck pain, failed back surgery syndrome and phantom limb pain. The Calmare device was developed by Giuseppe Marineo, DSc (doctor of science), a researcher and bioengineer at Delta Research & Development, Rome.

"Calmare offers medication-free pain relief for a wide spectrum of pain sufferers with no side effects," said Michael J. Cooney, D.C., Rutherford Allied Medical Group. "It truly represents a new solution for people living with neuropathic pain."

Calmare scrambler therapy is performed directly at the patient’s pain site using external electric stimulation to manipulate the signals flowing to the central nervous system. The process is transmitted through electrodes, similar to those used for an EKG (electrocardiogram). This low dose electricity “scrambles” pain messages sent to the brain replacing “pain” with a “no-pain” message. Therapy is performed for a minimum of 10 daily sessions, lasting 30 – 45 minutes in duration, on average.

Calmare therapy, performed on more than 3,000 patients worldwide, received FDA 510(k) clearance and medical device CE certification from the European Union. The Journal of Clinical Oncology recently reported Calmare therapy to be effective in helping cancer patients overcome chronic pain http://bit.ly/gQnnNT . Select U.S. hospitals, cancer treatment centers and pain management facilities now offer Calmare therapy, including Walter Reed Army Medical Center http://bit.ly/9VQy3L.

Rutherford Allied Medical Group is comprised of board certified doctors, chiropractic specialists and physical therapists who treat pain biophysically, without medication. Calmare Pain Treatment Therapy® is an FDA approved non-invasive scrambler therapy proven to help relieve chronic pain. For more information, call (201) 933-4440 or visit http://calmaretherapynj.com/
