2 Montville Men, Both 19, Killed In I-287 Crash
Samuel Cali and Leonidas Vagias were killed when the Lexus they were in flew off the roadway and crashed, state police said.

MONTVILLE, N.J. — Two 19-year-old residents were killed in a fatal motor vehicle accident on I-287 in Mahwah Monday, State Police said.
Samuel Cali, and Leonidas Vagias, both 19 and from Towaco, died after their Lexus flew off the roadway in the woods on I-287 near milepost 62 in Mahwah, New Jersey State Police said. A state Department of Transportation employee discovered the vehicle in the woods, police said.
Both men were standout athletes at their alma mater, Don Bosco Prep.

Cali, a student at Rutgers University, was a two-time district wrestling champion at Don Bosco, according to his biography on Scarletknights.com. He tallied an 89-28 record throughout his high school career. He placed fourth at the Beast of the East and third at the NJSIAA State Championships at 132 pounds as a senior.
Vagias was a standout kicker for Don Bosco, according to published reports. He was a kicker on the University of Rhode Island football team.

Investigators found the men dead outside the vehicle, police said. A preliminary investigation indicated that the men were ejected from the vehicle during the crash, police said, which may have occurred "sometime" Sunday night.
There was no other information available about the two men, state police said.
The New Jersey State Police Fatal Accident Investigation Unit and police personnel were investigating the crash Monday.
