Cole Porter’s Classic, ANYTHING GOES, Sets Sail Feb 28 at MTHS
Sail the High Seas on the SS American with Tap-Dancing, Singing and Beloved Porter Tunes Like "I Get a Kick Out of You" and "You're the Top"
ANYTHING GOES, the Cole Porter classic, is the toe-tapping spring musical production produced by the Montville Township High School Drama Club. The performers will stage the Tony Award-winning musical Thursday through Saturday, February 28 through March 2 at 7:30 p.m. ANYTHING GOES features non-stop singing, dancing, tapping and comedy. The show features one hit tune after another including: Bon Voyage, I Get a Kick Out of You, You’re the Top and Anything Goes!
“ANYTHING GOES has something for everyone.” said MTHS senior Jason Joo. Joo, who delighted audiences last spring with his performance of SHREK in the MTHS Drama Club’s 2018 production by the same name, will portray the starry-eyed stow-away, Billy Crocker. Billy, a Wall Street broker sets sail on the SS American in order to get to know the girl of his dreams, who he happened to see board the ship shortly after he accidentally met her in a taxi. A musical of classic “meet-cute” scenes, mistaken identities and non-stop song and dance, ANYTHING GOES is high energy fun from start to finish.
“People loved the tap-dancing number from THE DROWSEY CHAPERONE,” added senior Carly Benson. “This show has even more tapping, so they will really enjoy ANYTHING GOES.”

Once again the outstanding MTHS creative team of Scott Baird and Kristen Markowski will serve as producers and directors of the MTHS Drama Club’s spring musical. Baird, Director and Executive Producer, and Markowski, Vocal Director, Assistant Director and Producer, produced last spring’s mega-hit SHREK.
Also on board are: Choreographer, Caitlin Camuccio; Musical Director, Andrew Havington; Scenic Designer, Paul Simons; Costume Designer Maryanne Hannon; Lighting Designer Kevin Ohlweiler; Hair & Make-up Designer Nicole Magliaro; Production Stage Manager, Brenden Silverman and Asst. Student Director Lexie Burns.
“In the four years that I have been involved the MTHS Drama Club has grown and expanded,” Benson noted. “This past fall we did the musical JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH so athletes who are busy with spring teams would have an opportunity to perform in the fall. We have expanded our Broadway Night performances…. There are so many more opportunities to perform. The MTHS Drama Club is a great organization, and this spring’s musical, ANYTHING GOES, is really fun. Audiences will have a great time.”
ANYTHING GOES will be performed in the Dr. Robert O. Stafford Auditorium at MTHS, 100 Horseneck Road, Montville, New Jersey. The production runs for three performances only. Tickets to this fun family production are only $15 for adults and $12 for students and senior citizens. Show times are Thursday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m. There will be General Seating at all three performances. Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance at: http://mthsnj.booktix.com/ .
