Column: Same Montville Patch, New Montville Editor

New local editor aims to bring you the stories you care about.

Over the past few weeks, I've heard this question a lot:

"Where's Nate?"

That would be , the founding editor of Montville Patch, who has departed for a new Patch site in Pennsylvania.

I've got big shoes to fill as I take over as editor of Montville Patch, as Nate clearly made his presence known throughout the town, and was a reliable source of all things Montville during his stay. I aim to continue with what he started; to make Montville Patch the best source of news, information and conversation in the township.

But first, let me introduce myself:

I started working with Patch in October of 2009 as a freelance contributor, first covering sports, but then branching out to cover municipal meetings, arts and music, local organizations and more. I've written for dozens of Patch sites, and have worked as weekend editor in Morris and Somerset counties, but most recently, my focus has been on Montville as I've prepared for this new role.

I've lived in New Jersey my entire life, growing up just outside of Atlantic City in a small town called Northfield before attending college and graduate school at Rutgers University. During my last semester, I landed in Morris County, where I've lived for the past two years.

Now my focus will be on Montville, a township with a rich history, passionate residents and a .

So, when people gather in Montville for a political function, or a playoff sporting event, or a local fundraiser, I hope people will ask:

"Where's John?"
