MONTVILLE, NJ— The Drowsy Chaperone is the 2017 Montville Township High School spring musical, and will run from March 2-4, 2017.
Five seniors hold lead parts in this season’s musical production, including Tommy Sansone who is making his musical theatre debut as the Underling.
“It’s simple fun!” said senior Emma Fleisig who plays Trix, The Aviatrix. “Everyone will like it. It is really fun.”

“It’s really funny, too,” saaid Sydney Kayne, a senior who will portray Mrs. Tottendale. “I love it. You just cannot stop laughing!”
Like most of the cast, neither of the actresses was familiar with the piece when they auditioned. But the unending laughs of The Drowsy Chaperone have made it one of the cast’s favorite shows to have been produced during their time at MTHS.

Sansone, who has previously played trombone in as part of the orchestra for two years, was excited to be joining the cast.
“I just wanted to be a part of that,” the senior said.
In addition to Fleisig, Kayne and Sansone, seniors Martin Trogani and Heather Shaw will play lead characters Man in Chair and Janet Van De Graaf, respectively.

Veteran director, Scott Baird will again lead the cast and creative team as the Director and Executive Producer. MTHS Choral Director, Kristen Markowski is the Vocal Director and Assistant Director. Music Direction by MTHS Orchestra Director Andrew Havington. The creative team also consists of: Caitlin Gutches, Choreographer; Erik Sheehan, Scenic Design; Karen Holeczko, Props Design; Eileen Racioppi, Art Design; Susan Kenny, Costumes/Hair & Make-Up; Christina Sheehan Drama Club Business Manager/Producer and Production Stage Manager, Pam Wilczynski.
The Drowsy Chaperone will run for three performances only from Thursday through Saturday, March 2, 3 and 4 at 7:30 PM. Performances will be held at the Dr. Robert O. Stafford Auditorium in the Montville Township High School (100 Horseneck Road).
Tickets can be purchased at the door or will be on sale in advance at MTHS to all members of the public during the following dates and times: Saturday, February 18 from 10am-2pm, Thursday February 23rd from 6pm-8pm and Saturday February 25from 10am-2pm.
Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for Students and Senior Citizens. The Drowsy Chaperone is appropriate for all ages.
