Drunk Driver Led Montville Police On High Speed Chase: Report

Police thought they were responding to a medical call at first, according to reports.

MONTVILLE, NJ— A drunk Montville man led police on a high speed chase after responding to what appeared to be a medical emergency, TapInto reported.

Police responded to a driver slumped over behind the wheel, believing it was a medical emergency. When police pulled up behind the car, the driver awoke and took off.

After narrowly avoiding a collision, the driver sped away on the wrong side of the road, TapInto reported.

When the man finally stopped, he put the car into reverse instead of park, and rolled backwards into a Montville police car.

The man reportedly lost consciousness, and was taken to a nearby hospital. He was charged with charged with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated in a school zone, attempt to elude a police officer and failure to produce documents.
