Freeholders Approve Route 208 Montville Intersection Upgrade Project

Right-turn only lane will be installed form Route 202 east to Changebridge Road, officials announce.

A major reconstruction project designed to reduce traffic at Changebridge Road and Route 287 in Montville has been approved.

The Morris County Freeholders awarded $1.2 million to Concrete Construction to complete the project.

  • Widening Route 202 to two lanes in each direction between the Route 287 north exit ramp and Changebridge Road.
  • Installing a dedicated right-turn lane from Route 202 to southbound Changebridge Road.
  • installing two left-turn lanes and a right-turn only lane at Changebridge Road northbound.

The traffic light system at the intersection will be replaced and curb ramps will be installed, officials announced.

Work will begin next month and is expected to take six months to complete.
