Innovative Research Programs To Be Highlighted At Montville High School Orientation
New student orientation to be held Feb. 9.

Incoming freshmen to Montville Township High School, and their parents or guardians, are invited to get a glimpse into high school life on Tuesday, February 9, 2016. The Incoming Student Orientation will be held at 7:00 p.m. in the MTHS Dr. Robert O. Stafford Auditorium. All Montville Township students, who will be attending grade nine in fall 2016, are encouraged to come meet administrators, staff, and students.
“The event will be a wonderful opportunity for future MTHS students to explore the educational offerings found at MTHS,” said Leslee Scheckman Director of School Counseling.
At the Incoming Student Orientation parents and students will learn about the high school’s many award-winning programs, extracurricular activities and classes, including the innovative Humanities Research and Science Research Programs.

Developed at MTHS three years ago, Humanities Research Program supports student success through student engagement. The Humanities Research approach to teaching inspires an interest in learning, while increasing curriculum retention for students of all abilities. It addresses 21st Century needs and develops skills for today’s marketplace.
MTHS also offers the acclaimed Science Research Program. Designed by the State University of New York at Albany (SUNY), the Science Research Program curriculum teaches students how to develop and present original research. The award-winning program places students in lab settings and mentoring programs for an in-depth understanding and exploration of real-world scientific research and application.

Known for its rich and varied programs, MTHS was named a District of Distinction in July 2015 by District Administrator magazine, a national publication.
Outstanding academics, athletics, and programs in the arts, are also the hallmark of MTHS. A nationally recognized Forensics team and marching band, a state championship bowling team, and a newly renovated, state-of-the art, media center are just a few examples of the school’s renowned Mustang Pride.
The 2016 Incoming Student Orientation will be held Tuesday, February 9, 2016, at 7:00 p.m. Montville Township High School is located at 100 Horseneck Road.
