“James and the Giant Peach” to be Performed NOV 15 and 17 at MTHS

Fall Musical of the Children's Classic by Roald Dahl is a Fantastic Family Outing of Puppets and Pageantry.

November 15 and 17, 2018, the Montville Township High School Drama Club will present a musical version of JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH, based on the popular novel by British author Roald Dahl. This beloved children’s classic will have three performances: Thursday, November 15 at 7:30PM and Saturday November 17 at 2:00PM and 7:30PM.

JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH is about four-year-old James Henry Trotter who lives in England. One night James crawls into a giant peach and has a wild adventure with a series of bugs.

Author, Dahl, who also wrote Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Matilda, as well as the screenplays for the James Bond film You Only Live Twice and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, is famous for writing surreal stories that feature vibrant villains, high adventure, playful language and kindhearted heroes.

The MTHS Drama Club production will feature puppets and a cast of more than twenty performers from grades 9 to 12.

The production will be directed by Drama Club Advisor Scott Baird. The Vocal Director and Pit Director will be music teachers Kristen Markowski and Andrew Havington. The cast includes: Valerie Amado, Carly Benson, Jessica Blake, Gabby Casiano, Joshua Choc, Jeffrey Gallup, Michelle Georgescu, Skyler Herman, Jack Iaci, Jason Joo, Julia Kehr, Nina Lewin, Anna Rehberg, Dom Sawieljew, Adyna Silverberg, Jadyn Silverberg, Griffin Smolar, Alexa Zammit, Emma Zwickel and Matt Krase as James.

The remainder of the creative team includes teachers and students. Among them are: Choreographer Lauren Moran Mills, Scenic Designer Paul Simons, Costume Designer/Hair & Make-Up Artist Susan Kenny, Art Director Eileen Racioppi, Lighting Designer Kevin Ohlweiler, Sound Designer Daniel Pasquale, Production Stage Manager Brenden Silverman and Student Asst. Director Lexie Burns.

The family friendly production of JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH will be held in the Dr. Robert O. Stafford Auditorium at MTHS, 100 Horseneck Road, Montville, New Jersey. Show times are Thursday and Saturday, November 15 and 17 at 7:30PM and Saturday, November 17 at 2:00PM. Tickets are $12 for Students and Senior Citizens and $15 for Adults.
