Man Found Guilty of Wife's Murder in Morris County

A grand jury sitting in Superior Court in Morris County Thursday morning returned a guilty verdict against Kashif Parvaiz, the man charged in the murder of his wife on a Boonton street in August 2011.

Kashif Parvaiz, 30, was found guilty of first degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, two counts of unlawful possession of a weapon, prohibited weapons and devices, endangering the welfare of a child, and hindering apprehension.

Parvaiz faces a maximum sentence of life in prison when he is sentenced on April 24, 2015.

On Aug. 16, 2011, Parvaiz’s wife, Nazish Noorani was shot and killed while walking on Main Street in Boonton. The shots were fired by Antionette Stephen, one of Parvaiz’s girlfriends. Stephen pleaded guilty in May 2013 to murdering Noorani, but has yet to be sentenced, according to dailyrecord.com.

Parvaiz and Noorani had two children together, who were ages 5 and 2 at the time of the murder.

The jury in Parvaiz’s trial was made up of eight women and four men, and took just four hours between Wednesday and Thursday to reach a verdict.

“Nothing will ever restore Nazish to her family,” said Morris County Prosecutor Fredric Knapp in statement. “As her two young children grow up, they will never have their mother by their side. Her family, and most especially her siblings, will never see her again. This verdict, however, demonstrates to all of her loved ones that justice has been served.”
