Man Killed by Oncoming Train Identified as Morris County Resident
New Jersey Transit police say man did not attempt to get off the tracks Wednesday morning.

The man who died after stepping in front of an oncoming New Jersey Transit train in Randolph Township Wednesday morning has been identified by police.
Nicholas Barritta, 36, of Rockaway Township was pronounced dead after he trespassed a closed area and onto the train tracks just east of the Dover station, New Jersey Transit spokesperson William Smith said.
Train personnel said Barritta stepped on the tracks and “made no attempt to move himself out of the way of the oncoming train,” Smith said.

The incident occurred at 6:53 a.m. and delayed the Morris-Essex Line for more than 45 minutes Wednesday morning. The 28 passengers and train employees on board were uninjured, Smith said.
