Montville High School Student Awarded National Merit Scholarship

MONTVILLE N.J. — Stacy Wang wants to study economics in college. She just got a little financial assistance to help make that dream come true.
Wang, a Montville High School student, is the recipient of the National Merit MetLife Foundation Scholarship. Awardees are children of MetLife employees.
Wang is one of more than 1,000 students nationwide to receive a corporate-sponsored merit scholarship from the National Merit Scholarship Program.

Corporations provide scholarship to finalists who are children of their employees, residents of the communities the company serves, or who plan to pursue careers within a specific field.
Most of the awards are renewable stipends between $500 and $10,000 that are awarded every years of undergraduate study. Others provide a single payment between $2,500 and $5,000.
