Montville Power Outages Hit Hundreds Of Homes

MONTVILLE, NJ — More than 800 homes in Montville Township were without power Sunday morning as crews worked to restore service, Committeeman Matthew Kayne said.

“We are getting hit hard this morning,” Kayne wrote in a Facebook update, estimating that the outage affected about one in 10 homes in the township.

Kayne said he was in contact with the township’s office of emergency management team, township leadership and Jersey Central Power & Light. He also said he had spoken with a crew working on Taylortown Road.

He added that residents who need help or have an issue requiring attention can reach Kayne at mkayne@montvillenj.org. JCP&L also asks customers to report their own outage, even if a neighbor has already reported losing power.

The JCP&L outage map provided a nor’easter update saying crews were working “around the clock” to restore power following the weekend’s storms.
