The Montville Recreation Department will be sponsoring LEGO ENGINEERING CAMPS - Peers, Gears & Engineers by Technology Toolbox for Gr K-5 in September 2018.

Grade K classes will take place on Tuesdays: July 10, 17, 24, 31 & August 7 from 2:00pm to 3:00pm at Woodmont School located at 39 Woodmont Road in Pine Brook. Our young Engineers will have the opportunity to explore, investigate and solve problems using Levers, Gears, Pulleys and Wheels and Axles in this exciting hands-on class that uses LEGO Educational materials and Duplo building blocks. Children will be introduced to simple machines in each 1 hour class. Space is Limited! What is a PULLEY? Build a fan and/or a Crane! What are GEARS? Build a toy that spins! What are LEVERS? Build a SeeSaw! FUN WITH GEARS! Build a Spin Art or a Wrinkle Machine and create a masterpiece!! WHEELS AND AXELS! Let’s build a car and tractor trailer!!

Grades 1-2 classes will take place on Wednesdays: July 11, 18, 25, August 1 & 8 from 2:00pm to 3:00pm at Woodmont School located at 39 Woodmont Road in Pine Brook. Our young Engineers will work as a team to explore, investigate and solve problems using Levers, Gears, Pulleys and Wheels and Axles in this exciting hands-on class that uses LEGO Educational materials. Children will be introduced to simple machines in each 1 hour class. Space is Limited! PULLEYS… Build a crane! GEARS… What are “Crown Gears”? Find out how to speed things up using gears! LEVERS…Build a ride and change the speeds! WHEELS AND AXELS…Build a winch and tow a boat!! FUN WITH LEVERS! CATAPULT WARS!!!

Grades 3-5 classes will take place on Wednesdays: July 11, 18, 25, August 1 & 8 from 2:00pm to 3:00pm at Hilldale School located at 123 Konner Ave. in Pine Brook. Our young Engineers will work as a team to explore, investigate and solve problems using Levers, Gears, Pulleys and Wheels and Axles in this exciting hands-on class that uses LEGO Educational materials. Children will be introduced to simple machines in each 1 hour class. Space is Limited! ENGINEERING CHALLENGE…Build a Drawbridge and design a vehicle that can drive across it! SUMMER SPEEDWAY...Motorize a Go Cart and Electronic gate! THINGS THAT MOVE…build and motorize a Turnstile and turn it into a helicopter! A TRIP TO THE QUARRY!... Build a Conveyor Belt to move heavy rocks! A DAY AT THE BOARDWALK!... build and motorize an Amusement Park Ride!
