The Montville Recreation Department will be sponsoring LEGO ENGINEERING - Peers, Gears & Engineers by Technology Toolbox for Grades 1-2 and Grades 3-5.

Grades 1-2 - Our young Engineers will have the opportunity to explore, investigate and solve problems using Levers, Gears, Pulleys, Wheels, and Axles in this exciting hands-on class that uses LEGO Educational materials. Children will be introduced to simple machines in each 1 hour class. In true engineering style, time will be allotted to make design improvements to the object we build, allowing the children to bring their creative genius to the surface. Material will not be repeated if your child previously participated in the program.

Program takes place on Thursdays: March 21, 28, April 4, 11, 25 & May 2 (No: 4/18) from 5:15pm to 6:15pm.

Grades 3-5 - Hands-on learning engages students at every level, sparks creativity, develops critical thinking skills, ignites career possibilities — and is just plain fun! LEGO®Education Simple & Powered Machines use LEGO® bricks and creative activities to make interactive, exploration-based learning easier than ever to achieve. We will be using both building plans and open-ended activities to explore the world around us. Students will cover a broad range of concepts, such as force, motion, and energy, using LEGO Technic bricks and a motor to model physical behaviors. This class will help promote collaborative work and observation skills.

Program runs on Thursdays: March 21, 28, April 4, 11, 25 & May 2 (No: 4/18) from 4:00pm to 5:00pm
