Montville Township Public Schools Welcomes New Business Administrator
Katine M. Slunt, Montville's new BA, arrives in the district with nearly 30 years of experience and first-hand knowledge of the township.
MONTVILLE, NJ — On Wednesday, July 5, 2017, Katine M. Slunt joined the Montville Township Public Schools’ administrative team as the new Business Administrator. Slunt replaces retiring BA James Tevis.
With a Bachelors of Arts in Accounting from Franklin and Marshall College, Slunt is a C.P.A. and Q.P.A. A former KPMG Peat Marwick Public Accountant and Auditor, Slunt has been evaluating, auditing, analyzing and managing the accounting of public and non-profit funds since 1989. Through KPMG Peat Marwick, Slunt planned and administered audit engagements for organizations such as City University of New York, March of Dimes, and Yeshiva University. In 1993 she became the Assistant BA in the Wayne Public Schools. Since then she has worked as a BA, Assistant BA or Manager and Consultant overseeing capital projects, audits and compliance for a variety of public school districts including Rockaway Township Board of Education and East Hanover School District.
A resident of Montville Township, Slunt comes to the Montville Township Public Schools Business Office from North Haledon Schools. Prior to that she managed the budget for Unity Charter School in Morristown.

The Montville Township Board of Education ratified Slunt’s appointment to the position of BA for the Montville Township Public Schools on Tuesday, May 30, 2017. The annual salary is $149,000. Slunt was officially introduced to the community at the June 13 BOE meeting. A district-wide e-mail welcoming her to the position was sent to all faculty and staff on July 6, 2017.
