Montville Township Public Schools is seeking qualified substitute teachers. As of January 1, 2020, the district’s daily rate for substitute teachers is $100.

Montville Township Public Schools regularly maintains a roster of roughly 180 substitute teachers who are on-call throughout the academic year. Coming into 2020, however, the district would like to increase the pool of qualified substitutes to more than 200.

To be considered, substitute applicants must possess a Morris County Substitute Certificate issued by the New Jersey Department of Education. Candidates must also have completed 60 semester hour credits at a regionally accredited college or university and pass the New Jersey Criminal History Background clearance.

Substitute teacher applications are accepted anytime throughout the calendar year. However, the district is currently encouraging anyone who is interested in substituting to reach out this month.
