Montville's Integrated Pre-School Registration Opens Mon, Feb. 11
3 and 4 Year-Olds Are Eligible for Acclaimed Program. Apply before Mon., Mar. 11. Limited Spaces For Montville Township Pre-K Students

Applications for the Montville Township Public Schools’ integrated pre-school program will be accepted February 11 through March 11, 2019. Space is extremely limited in the popular program.
Aligned with the New Jersey Department of Education’s guidelines for high-quality early childhood education, the district’s integrated pre-school offers three and four-year-olds, with and without special needs, an opportunity for high quality and personalized education. In addition, children who attend the Montville Township Integrated Pre-School have access to the Montville Township school district’s extensive resources. Resources such as: school assemblies, special programs, school wide events, theme days and field trips, as well as weekly instruction in art, music and media taught by certified faculty members.
“Innovative pre-school classes are part of the unique child-centered education of the Montville Township Public Schools,” said Patricia Stryker, Supervisor of Special Services. “Our comprehensive, child-centered, approach helps all students learn and prepare to successfully transition into kindergarten.”

Housed in in two district schools: Cedar Hill Elementary and Valley View Elementary, Montville’s integrated pre-school curriculum is designed to promote the academic, social, emotional and language development of every child.

Class sizes in the Montville integrated pre-school are small. Duel-certified pre-school teachers head each class. Two paraprofessionals also work in the classroom. In addition, weekly lessons are facilitated by a certified Speech and Language Specialist to enhance language development. A certified Occupational and Physical Therapist also teaches weekly lessons to enhance fine and gross motor development.
The Montville Township Integrated Pre-School program follows a state approved early childhood curriculum. The program consists of three morning half-day sessions per week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday for three-year-olds, and five afternoon half-day sessions, Monday through Friday each week for four-year-olds. The school schedule will adhere to the district’s 2019-2020 calendar.
Registration is now open for morning and afternoon classes. Classes are small and enrollment is limited. A preschool readiness screening will be administered to all applicants on March 26, 27 or 28, 2019.
In order to be eligible, children must be at least 3 years of age, but less than 5 years of age, on or before October 1, 2019. Tuition is $400 per month for 3 days, and $500 for 5 days. Limited transportation is available at a rate of $250 per year, one way, or $500.00 per year round trip. Applications and more information can be found at www.montville.net.
Cedar Hill Elementary School is located at 46 Pine Brook Rd, Towaco, NJ 07082 and Valley View Elementary School is located at 30 Montgomery Avenue, Montville, NJ 07045. School placement is determined by address. Students who would normally attend Cedar Hill or William Mason Elementary Schools for kindergarten through grade 5 instruction will be assigned to Cedar Hill Elementary if placed in the district’s integrated pre-school program. Students who would normally attend K-5 in Hilldale, Woodmont or Valley View Elementary Schools will attend Valley View Elementary if placed in the integrated pre-school program.
