Morris County Duo Accused of Robbing Oak Ridge Bank
PNC Bank in Jefferson Twp. robbed just before 10 a.m. Wednesday.

A man and woman have both been arrested in connection with a bank robbery that took place Wednesday morning in the Oak Ridge section of Jefferson Township, Morris County Prosecutor Fredric Knapp announced.
At 9:40 a.m. a report of a bank robbery was made at the PNC Bank on Berkshire Valley Road, Knapp said. When police arrived the alleged robber was gone, and witnesses gave a description of an armed man who entered the bank and demanded money, Knapp said.
An investigation led law enforcement to the Oak Ridge home of William Chasmer, 57, where he was arrested without incident, Knapp said. The investigation also revealed Janet Kaine, 44, also of Oak Ridge, was an alleged accomplice, Knapp said.

Both were charged with one count of robbery each, and one count of conspiracy to commit robbery. Chasmer was lodged on $250,000 bail with no 10-percent option, and Kaine’s bail was set at $150,000 bail with no 10-percent option.
The Major Crimes Unit of the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, Jefferson Township Police, Morris County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Section, and the FBI all assisted in the investigation.
