Morris Plains Man Accused of Robbing Denville Bank

Police say Larry Zhou, 31, stole cash from TD Bank Saturday, Dec. 27.

A Morris Plains man sought by local and federal law enforcement agencies for robbing a bank has been arrested and jailed, Morris County Prosecutor Fredric Knapp announced Monday.

Larry Zhou, 31, was arrested in Denville Monday after robbing the TD Bank on East Main Street in the same town just after 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 27.

Zhou was arrested by members of the Denville Police Department and Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit. Bail was set at $125,000 cash with no 10-percent option.

Police released surveillance images of Zhou at the bank, handing a note to the teller and demanding money. No weapon was ever shown, and surveillance photos also showed Zhou’s vehicle in the parking lot.

It appears this isn’t Zhou’s first interaction with law enforcement, as he was arrested in 2007 for allegedly selling cocaine in East Hanover as part of a 16-person steroid distribution ring, according to nj.com.
