Mustangs Track to Compete in Sectional Championships

The North 1 Group III championships for varsity track begin on Friday afternoon in Mahwah at 4 p.m., and Montville is sending a few top ranked athletes to the event.

Kirsten Muhaw - Ranked #1 - Pole Vault
Mike Polizzi - Ranked #2 - Pole Vault
Matt Crossen - Ranked #5 - 800 Meters
Kevin Duffy - Ranked #6 - 3200 Meters
Whitney Zammit - Ranked #5 - 800 Meters
Pete Tollis - Ranked #4 - Discus
Jared McPherson - Ranked #7 - Triple Jump

Filippo also said Darren Schenk, who will compete in the 800 meters and 400 meter hurdles events, Michael Higgins, who will compete in the 1600 and 3200, Grant Sanchez, shot put and discus, and pole vaulter Adam Fano are also athletes to look out for.

Last weekend, Mustangs track competed in the Morris County Championships, and many Montville athletes performed well. San Filippo provided more data:
