New Adventures Beckon, Editor Says Farewell

Today will be my last day as editor of Montville Patch.

I started in the role only a few months ago, but I've been around since before that, working as weekend editor in the area and covering events in town during the week, as well as filling in during the time between inaugural and my official start.

Although I've only spent just over two months working as the editor of Montville Patch, I was consistently impressed with the level of civic engagement as well as how welcoming so many members of the community have been.

Because of how welcome I've felt, whether at a township committee meeting, at the library, covering an event in town, or grabbing a meal at the or , it is difficult for me to bow out so soon.

But, even when it seems necessary, change can be hard to anticipate. It can sneak up on a person, or come unexpectedly, looming around every corner, asking questions that are difficult to answer.

After some consideration, it became clear that it was already time for me to go, so I've decided to pursue other things in other places.

Patch will, of course, continue to bring you the local news you care about every day. In fact, my replacement has already been hired and will be introducing himself in early August. With years of community journalism experience, at county newspapers in both Morris and Somerset counties, he is highly qualified to step into the role of editor for Montville Patch.

I'm excited to see what he brings to the site, confident that important local stories will continue to be told and eager to see how some issues are resolved.

And, of course, if I ever find myself wondering what's going on in town, I need only visit the site and take a look around. I'm sure I'll see some familiar faces.
