No Injuries in Back Deck Blaze at Condo Complex

Fire extinguished in approximately 15 minutes.

A small fire that started Thursday on the back deck behind a condominium on Barge Court in the  resulted in no injuries and took approximately 15 minutes to extinguish, according to the Montville Fire Department.

The fire appears to be accidental, Chief John Osborne said.

The call first came in around 5:17 p.m., according to Capt. Renee Sorenson of the Towaco Fire Department, who first responded to the scene.

The house was deemed habitable by 6:30 p.m., Osborne said.

The back deck and part of the back wall were damaged in the fire, but no fire got inside of the house, although smoke did enter the building, Osborne said.
