North Jersey Cop Showed Genitals to Young Men During Traffic Stops, Police Say
Officer would ask motorists if they noticed his zipper was down, did not ticket anyone despite known wrongdoing, report says.

A Newton police officer with 13 years on the force showed his genitals to five different men during traffic stops over a six-month period in lieu of giving them tickets.
Officer Jason Miller, 37, was arrested Monday and accused of showing his genitals to men ages 18 to 26 between March and October of this year, njherald.com reported. He was charged with two counts of official misconduct, one count of third-degree pattern of official misconduct and a disorderly persons offense of lewdness.
Miller has been suspended without pay pending the outcome of the criminal case, the report said. He was released on $35,000 bail with a 10-percent option after turning himself in to the Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office.

An investigation began on Oct. 23 when Miller’s police department received an anonymous email from a man claiming to be sexually harassed by a Newton cop, the report said.
That investigation, the report said, led to the findings of five different men who were allegedly stopped by Miller on separate occasions for various reasons, and never received summonses for wrongdoing, despite acknowledging speeding, alcohol consumption, and expired documentation.

On one occasion, a 23-year-old man who was driving a friend home said he was asked by Miller if he noticed the officer’s zipper was down, the report said. After dropping off the friend, the driver was pulled over again by Miller, who asked, again, if he noticed the officer’s zipper down. The driver said no.
Dashboard camera footage shows in one incident Miller walking back to his patrol car during a traffic stop and putting his and inside his pants, through the zipper opening, in an attempt to cover his genitals, the report said.
Miller is scheduled to be in court on Wednesday, Nov. 26.
