O'Reilly, Riola Lead Montville to MCT Win

Girls set to face Morris Catholic in Round 2.

Katie O’Reilly sank three 3-pointers on her way to a 16-point, seven rebound performance as the Montville girls basketball team stopped Mount Olive, 46-39, in the first round of the Morris County Tournament Friday in Montville.

Angela Riola added eight points and nine rebounds for the No. 13 seeded Mustangs, who led 18-13 at halftime and improve to 11-5 with the win.

Tami Lake added nine rebounds to go along with four points for Montville, who get set to face No. 4 seeded Morris Catholic on Saturday.

Sarah Wells added 12 points and Morgan Torstenson added 11 points for Mt. Olive (5-12).

A three-goal third period on Saturday at Mennen Arena helped surge the Montville ice hockey team past Madison, 4-0, according to NJ.com.

Kurt Bambach stopped 18 shots for Montville (8-9-1) and Grant Perry stopped 26 shots for Madison (9-6).
