Police Release Sketch of Man Who Tried Abducting Child in Morris County

Incident involved 10-year-old girl in Boonton on March 24.

Working with the New Jersey State Police, the Boonton Police Department has released a sketch of the man alleged to have attempted a child abduction on March 24, and are asking for the public’s help.

Just before 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24, Boonton police responded to the area of Cedar and Liberty Streets for a report of a possible attempted child abduction. When officers arrived, they spoke with a 10-year-old girl who said she was walking home from school when a white man, in his 20s, driving a black, four-door sedan similar to a Lincoln Town Car livery cab pulled alongside her and stopped.

The man allegedly exited his vehicle, approached the girl without saying anything and grabbed her arm, police said.
