Are You More Aware of Who's in Charge of Your Kids?

Have local and national incidents caused parents to be more cautious in recent years?

Parents trust many people with their kids throughout the courses of their lives, between teachers, coaches, religious leaders and more.

But over the past two decades, some of the people who have held these roles have been accused of violating that trust and the children they spend time with. While incidents are not frequently reported, parents have been shocked and saddened when cases of abuse or sexual assault occur.

A former Montville teacher and track coach has been charged several times in the past three months with sexually assaulting five child victims while working as a first grade teacher in the Montville Township Public Schools district from 2005-2007. Jason Fennes was also accused of in 1997.
