Prosecutor: Man Assaulted Boy, 3, and Woman at Morris County Hotel
Man was romantically involved with victim, police report.

An Irvington man has been arrested and jailed after police say he assaulted a woman he was dating and the woman’s three-year-old son at a Morris County hotel on Friday, April 10, Morris County Prosecutor Fredric Knapp announced.
Police responded to the Knights Inn at 55 Route 46 in the Pine Brook section of Montville at 2:45 p.m. Friday for a report of an assault, Knapp said.
Upon arrival, police found Maurice Pearson, 26, and arrested him after an investigation revealed he allegedly assaulted a 25-year-old woman he was dating and her son, 3, Knapp said.

The boy was hospitalized with serious injuries, Knapp said. The woman was treated for her injuries and released.
Pearson was charged with aggravated assault (second degree), endangering the welfare of a child, aggravated assault (third degree), and hindering for providing false information.

He was put in Morris County Correctional Facility in lieu of $100,000 bail with no 10-percent option.
