Prostitute Operated Out of Morris Spa, Cops Say

New York woman arrested at Rt. 10 location after weeks of investigation showed increased traffic to the business, police report.

A New York woman working at a spa in Morris Plains was arrested and charged with prostitution Thursday, and could be part of a larger operation, Morris Plains Police said.

Yu Cui, 50, was arrested at the VIP Spa business on Rt. 10 after several weeks of investigating, Det. Lt. Tom D’Ambola said. At the time of the arrest, two other women were present but not arrested, and a “large amount” of cash was seized, D’Ambola said.

This isn’t the business’s first time getting nailed for prostitution, either. In 2012, a Fort Lee woman was arrested there and charged with prostitution when she tried to perform sexual activity with an undercover police officer.

D’Ambola said the location is likely part of a prostitution ring operating in the area, and expects more arrests to be made in connection with this one. Residents reported an increased amount of traffic recently to the business, which led authorities to investigate, D’Ambola said.

“The facility has the appearance of a legitimate spa,” D’Ambola said. “But that’s as far as it goes.”

The business was also given a citation, D’Ambola said.
