Star-Struck: Montville High Students Take in the View
Teens take in the sights of the galaxies and planets from the Sheep Hill Observatory.
About 15 star partiers from l got a pleasant view Saturday of planets, galaxies and constellations, despite intermittent clouds and misty skies from the Sheep Hill Observatory in Boonton.
The rings of Saturn, Messier objects M81 and M82, the Big Dipper, (Ursa Major) Polaris and Hercules were visible from the grounds and some as well from the observtories' 18-inch scope.
An earlier passing rainstorm did not deter the young stargazers from the astronomical stories of teacher Sarah Lawler-Cooper of Montville and Sheep Hill Astronomical Association President Andy Monka. Clouds began to move in late in the evening and the party ended about 10:30 p.m.
