Township Committee to Introduce Ordinance Establishing Committee Member Salaries

Tuesday's township committee meeting begins at 8 p.m.

The Montville Township Committee will meet Tuesday night at 8 p.m. Three ordinances will be opened to public hearings, two more will be introduced, and a Cub Scout pack will make a presentation to the animal shelter.

The three ordinances open for public hearing will be appropriations of funds for capital improvements, water improvements, and sewer improvements,  the three totaling near $1.5 million dollars.

Two ordinances will be introduced. The first would authorize $6,500 for the Open Space Dedicated Trust Fund. A debt analysis regarding open space will also be discussed at the meeting.

The second ordinance being introduced would establish the salary for the Montville Township Committee members at $12,000 per year. The ordinance also will deduct $1,750 from the salary of any member of the committee who obtained township health insurance before it was officially eliminated on June 1 of this year.
