Marine Visits William Mason Elementary School

Students sent letters of support to Kevin McCutcheon, the older brother of a second-grader and kindergartener at the school.

Marine Kevin McCutcheon visited William Mason Elementary School, in Montville, New Jersey. McCutcheon is the older brother of Gavin O’Leary, a second grader, and Cailin O’Leary, a kindergartener. Both are students at the Montville Township public school.

While at William Mason, McCutcheon thanked the students in Rosalyn Lippa and Gena Wallenburg’s second grade class. All of the students in the class wrote letters this fall congratulating McCutcheon on becoming a Marine.

McCutcheon recently graduated from boot camp, and visited the elementary on Oct. 23.

The new Marine also invited his mother, Dacie McCutcheon, to join him. Together they shared a book about Marines in the military, answered questions and gave a flag to all students.

“We are very proud of Kevin and we thank him for his service and wish him well in his duties as a Marine,” said Wallenburg.
