1 Dead In BurlCo House Fire; 'Severe Hoarding' Hindered Rescue Efforts
Firefighters had trouble extinguishing the blaze and searching for potential victims because of the clutter.
WESTAMPTON, NJ — Firefighters pushed through "severe hoarding conditions" during a house fire that killed a person Saturday in Burlington County, officials said
Crews responded to the two-alarm fire at about 6:20 p.m. on Westampton's East Pennington Drive. The Westampton Fire Department arrived in less than 3 minutes and found heavy fire burning throughout the home.
Because of the hoarding conditions, firefighters faced significant challenges extinguishing the fire and searching for potential victims. Despite their efforts, the fire killed one person.
