1944 Moorestown High School Graduate Passes

MOORESTOWN, NJ - Katherine Grace Black died on December 10, 2018. She was born in Philadelphia on August 2, 1926. She was a lifelong resident of Maple Shade before moving to Grace Assisted Living at the Lutheran Crossings, Moorestown.

Katherine was a 1944 graduate of Moorestown High School and spent her career working in the Accounting Department at Sears, first in Camden, NJ, then at the Moorestown Mall. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Maple Shade.

She enjoyed outings and events with the Sears Retirees Club. She was very independent until the final years of her life. She loved animals, taking in stray cats as pets and feeding the visiting squirrels, who would come to her window each day for their peanuts and treats.

Her family would like to thank the staff at Lutheran Crossings for their compassionate and excellent care in her final years. She is survived by a brother, Allen Black, of Virginia, formerly of Moorestown and her nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Funeral service is Friday, 10:30 a.m. at The Chapel of Lutherans Crossing at Moorestown, 255 East Main Street, Moorestown, NJ, 08057. Private Interment at Colestown Cemetery, Cherry Hill, NJ.
