2 Burlington County Walmarts To Offer Coronavirus Testing

BURLINGTON COUNTY, NJ — Two Walmart stores in Burlington County will be open for coronavirus testing beginning Friday, officials announced. Testing will be for adults who show symptoms of the coronavirus, including first responders and health care providers among others, as well as those in high-risk groups who don’t have symptoms.

The Walmart stores at 934 Route 73 in Mount Laurel and 2106 Mount Holly Road in Burlington Township are among seven New Jersey Walmarts that will host drive-thru testing sites. The sites are supported by state and local officials, Walmart, and Quest Diagnostics.

“A strong testing program is one of the foundational principles for New Jersey’s road back to restart and recovery,” Gov. Phil Murphy said. “I am incredibly grateful for our partnership with Walmart and Quest Diagnostics to expand our testing capacity and bring these critical testing resources into our communities to increase access for our residents.”

“Walmart is part of the community, and we are proud to help support the expansion of COVID-19 testing throughout New Jersey during this unprecedented time,” Walmart New Jersey Public Affairs Director Jennifer Hoehn said. “We are grateful to our associates who keep our stores running, our pharmacists who support these testing sites, and to Quest Diagnostics and local officials as we work together to open these sites and help our community.”

The sites will be open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. each week, weather permitting. They will be closed on May 25 because of Memorial Day, but will be open the following day and resume their normal schedule that Wednesday.

To get tested, residents will have to make an appointment through Quest Diagnostics using their online portal and app, www.MyQuestCOVIDTest.com, which will screen and schedule appointments for those individuals that meet medical eligibility for the testing sites.

Those who are being tested will be required to wear a mask and stay in their car for verification of eligibility criteria, ID check, and self-administered test. For the safety of all those on-site, the test site is not available to those who walk up.

Those being tested will be able to swab their own noses while in their car. A trained medical volunteer to ensure the sample is taken correctly, and drop the sealed sample into a container on their way out of the drive-thru site. The sites will be staffed by Walmart pharmacists and associates.

Quest Diagnostics will process test samples and provide results to those who were tested and their corresponding health departments. While individuals who are tested are awaiting results, they are asked to follow CDC guidelines and take steps to help prevent the virus from spreading to people in your home and community.
