4 Moorestown Residents Announced Intentions To Seek Two Open Seats On Township Council

Incumbent Democrats Nicole Gillespie and Quinton Law versus Republicans Janice Caccuro and Tara Banasz.

MOORESTOWN, NJ — Monday was the deadline to file for the upcoming primary election in June. Four candidates have announced their intention to run for two Moorestown Township Council seats.

Incumbents Nicole Gillespie and Quinton Law filed as Democrats for the town's two open council seats. They are unopposed in the primary.

Gillespie first took office in 2018 and has served as Mayor of Moorestown since January 2020.

Law won a special election last November to serve out the remainder of the term for a vacant seat on Town Council.

Janice Caccuro and Tara Banasz filed as Republicans for the town's two open council seats. They are unopposed in the primary.

Caccuro has volunteered her time on several committees with the Moorestown Youth Football Association and the Moorestown Lacrosse Club, registrar of the Moorestown Lacrosse Festival, and as a board member with the Pheasant Run Swim Club. She has also been an active parent in Moorestown schools, serving over the years as room parent, field day volunteer and chair of the Baker School Book Fair.

Banasz spends her free time volunteering, serving on the board for the Moorestown Lacrosse Club, serving as chairperson of the Moorestown Dance Assembly, being a member of the Moorestown Field Club and being vice president of the Our Lady of Good Counsel PTA.

New Jersey's primary election occurs on June 8. The state's general election occurs on Nov. 2. The two winning candidates will each serve a 4-year term.
